Indonesia Climate Change Adaptation Action Plan (RAN-API) Concept Note

This concept note provides conceptual guidance for the development of Indonesia's national climate change adaptation action plan (RAN-API), intended for completion and launch at the COP in December 2012.

• The Indonesian government planned to update its national climate change policy framework in 2012 by creating the national climate change adaptation action plan (RAN-API), with a target completion date for launch at the COP in December.
• While Indonesia had previously released the National Action Plan Addressing Climate Change (RAN-PI) and was finalizing a strategy for mainstreaming climate change into development planning, a broader strategy for addressing climate change risks and vulnerabilities was still required, a role to be filled by the RAN-API.
• The Concept Note serves as an independent input to support the government and local stakeholders in the RAN-API's development, offering guidance on substance and approach based on previous work and academic literature, and providing recommendations for authors in Section 7.
