Scaling knowledge interoperability for accelerated climate action

The article discusses how taxonomies and the Climate Connectivity Hub enhance the findability, accessibility, interoperability, and reusability (FAIR) of climate change adaptation data. By organizing information that is typically scattered across various online sites, these tools facilitate a shared understanding of knowledge domains, enabling policymakers and practitioners to build on existing research and speed up the deployment of effective climate resilience actions.

• Taxonomies can be used to improve the findable, accessible, interoperable, and reusable (FAIR) nature of information within climate change adaptation platforms, thereby enhancing overall knowledge management.
• Tools such as the Climate Connectivity Hub and its associated taxonomy address the problem of climate information being dispersed across numerous websites, making it easier for users to locate data on attempted measures and their impacts to inform decision-making.
• The implementation of the Climate Connectivity Hub and its taxonomy increases the interoperability and discoverability of research while fostering a common understanding of knowledge types and their application in practice, research, and policy.
