Navigating Food Crises

The report examines food crisis challenges and resilience interventions in East Africa and Southeast Asia, identifying shared drivers such as climate change, the COVID-19 pandemic, and the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

• The food crises in East Africa and Southeast Asia are driven by shared global and environmental themes, specifically climate-induced extreme weather, pandemic-related market disruptions, and the economic impacts of the Russian invasion of Ukraine on agricultural costs and food prices.
• The AgriFoSe2030 project teams in the studied regions are implementing interventions designed to improve food security and create more resilient agri-food systems in response to these crises.
