Water scarcity and climate change adaptation for Yemen's vulnerable communities

This research paper evaluates water scarcity and potential adaptation strategies in three distinct ecological areas of Yemen using Water Resources Evaluation and Planning (WEAP) software.

• The study indicates that current and projected water consumption patterns are a more significant driver of vulnerability in the region than potential climate change, and these patterns are expected to soon fully deplete available water supplies.
• Without the implementation of new strategies to balance water supply and demand, the water crisis in the three studied case areas is expected to worsen.
