PEOPLE-CENTERED ACCELERATOR

The People-Centered Accelerator is a voluntary partnership led by SEforALL to ensure a just energy transition by focusing on the most vulnerable populations and women. Its primary objectives include scaling sustainable energy access for those missed by 'business-as-usual' approaches, unlocking public and private finance for gender-responsive energy businesses, and empowering women in the energy workforce to hold decision-making power. The initiative specifically targets gaps in energy access within urban slums and rural areas of Africa and Asia.

• The People-Centered Accelerator seeks to provide sustainable modern energy to the poorest members of society who are overlooked by standard business-as-usual methods, specifically targeting those in rural Africa and Asia as well as urban slums.
• The partnership aims to increase the flow of public and private capital toward energy businesses that are socially inclusive and gender-responsive, noting that current market participants struggle to create bankable investments with scalable risk profiles.
• A core goal of the initiative is to increase women's autonomy and decision-making power in energy service delivery, which includes promoting women's participation in science, technology, mathematics education, and energy management.
