PEOPLE-CENTERED ACCELERATOR

The People-Centered Accelerator is a voluntary partnership led by Sustainable Energy for All (SEforALL) designed to advance gender equality, social inclusion, and women's empowerment within the sustainable energy sector to support the Paris Agreement and Sustainable Development Goals.

• The People-Centered Accelerator aims to ensure a just energy transition by focusing on the inclusion of women and the poorest members of society in sustainable energy services and business opportunities.
• The partnership operates through four primary joint objectives: extending energy provision to the poorest who are missed by standard business approaches, centering gender equality in the energy transition, unlocking public and private finance for social inclusion, and strengthening stakeholder collaboration.
• SEforALL is implementing an action-oriented work plan focused on three pillars: scaling sustainable access for vulnerable populations (specifically in rural Africa, Asia, and urban slums), directing capital toward gender-responsive energy businesses, and empowering women in energy service delivery to gain decision-making power and autonomy.
• The initiative identifies a need to increase women's participation in the energy workforce and management, as well as in science, technology, and mathematics education, through policies that utilize women as entrepreneurs and leaders.
