Our mission

Sustainable Energy for All (SEforALL) is an organization dedicated to accelerating the achievement of Sustainable Development Goal 7 (SDG7)—universal access to affordable, reliable, sustainable, and modern energy by 2030—and supporting the global transition to net-zero carbon dioxide emissions by 2050.

• SEforALL advocates for a 'Just and Equitable Energy Transition' that simultaneously addresses several imperatives: achieving a credible trajectory to net-zero CO2 emissions, ending energy poverty, powering economic growth and industrialization, diversifying supply chains, adapting to climate change, and ensuring the empowerment of women and youth.
• The organization prioritizes the scaling of renewable energy, energy efficiency, and energy storage, with a specific focus on decentralized solutions such as solar home systems, solar mini-grids, and clean cooking to reduce reliance on fossil fuels and traditional biomass.
• SEforALL identifies the high cost of capital for energy infrastructure in many African countries as a primary barrier to the deployment of renewable energy and energy efficiency, noting that the 'Global South' requires increased international support to transition away from fossil fuels.
• The organization adopts a technologically inclusive approach to low-emission energy, recognizing nuclear energy as a carbon-free source that can address supply variability, provided it complies with international safety and security regulations.
• SEforALL maintains strict funding and partnership policies to avoid promoting fossil fuels. It does not accept funding from companies in the coal, oil, or gas sectors, though it may accept funds from organizations that derive revenue from oil and gas if their primary mission aligns with SDG7, subject to Governance Board assessment.
