Accelerating Bangalore’s Mobility Transition

This report describes the outcomes of the Bangalore Urban Mobility Lab, a multi-stakeholder workshop held in February 2020 to develop sustainable, clean, and citizen-centric mobility solutions for Bangalore.

• The Urban Mobility Lab was a collaborative effort between the Rocky Mountain Institute (RMI), RMI India, Micelio, and several Government of Karnataka departments, including the Directorate of Urban Land Transport (DULT), Invest Karnataka Forum, and the Department of Industries and Commerce.
• A multi-stakeholder workshop took place on 19–20 February 2020, involving over 150 participants from government, civil society, and the private sector, resulting in the development and prioritization of more than ten actionable mobility solutions for Bangalore.
• RMI, RMI India, and Micelio intend to work with stakeholders and government departments to advance a selected portfolio of the mobility solutions generated during the February 2020 workshop, while adapting their approach to account for the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
