Urban Mobility Lab Pune

This report describes the first Urban Mobility Lab held in Pune, Maharashtra, from October 15–17, 2018. The event was part of a 'Grand Challenge' by NITI Aayog and the Rocky Mountain Institute (RMI) to establish 'Lighthouse Cities' as test-beds for innovative, integrated, and clean urban mobility solutions in India.

• Pune, Maharashtra was designated in June 2018 as the first 'Lighthouse City' for mobility solutions in India. This initiative followed a May 2017 report by NITI Aayog and RMI titled 'India Leaps Ahead: Transformative Mobility Solutions for All', which proposed using specific geographies as test-beds for implementing integrated urban mobility solutions.
• The Urban Mobility Lab, hosted by the Pune Municipal Corporation and RMI from October 15–17, 2018, brought together leaders from government, industry, and civil society to collaboratively design mobility solutions for Pune. The goal of the lab and the resulting report is to create a replicable model to accelerate India's transition toward a shared, clean, and people-centric mobility system.
