Decarbonisation Scenarios for the Transport Sector in Georgia

This report by the NewClimate Institute analyzes greenhouse gas (GHG) emission pathways for Georgia's transport sector, comparing a business-as-usual reference scenario, a scenario based on the Climate Strategy and Action Plan (CSAP), and scenarios aligned with the Paris Agreement.

• The report recommends establishing a permanent coordinated planning process for the transport sector to align policies and data across national and municipal governments, ideally through a centralized institution with overarching responsibility for strategy.
• The report identifies a need for improved transport activity data collection to reduce uncertainties and knowledge gaps that currently compromise the accuracy of emission and activity projections.
