Natural Justice: Statement of Support

Natural Justice, a not-for-profit association, issued a statement of support for its Fellow in India, Stella James, following her public accounts of sexual harassment. The organization condemned all forms of harassment and abuse of women, particularly within the legal profession, and requested that media refer to James's original statements and respect her privacy.

• Natural Justice is a not-for-profit association registered in South Africa since 2007 that supports the self-determination of Indigenous peoples and local communities, as well as the sustainable use of biodiversity and natural resources across Africa, Asia, and Latin America.
• The organization expressed solidarity with Stella James, a Fellow in India, who published accounts of sexual harassment in the Journal of Indian Law and Society on 6 November 2013 and 21 November 2013, and testified before a Supreme Court of India committee on 18 November.
• Natural Justice condemns all forms of harassment, assault, and abuse of women, specifically noting these issues within the legal profession, and has declined to provide further comments or information to the media regarding this matter.
