Communication sur ladaptation aux changements climatiques du Burkina Faso

The Government of Burkina Faso is developing an Adaptation Communication (AdCom) following an evaluation of its 2015 National Adaptation Plan (NAP). This initiative aims to increase the visibility of adaptation efforts, balance adaptation with mitigation, and contribute to the 2023 global stocktake on adaptation in accordance with the Paris Agreement and the Katowice climate package.

• Burkina Faso developed its National Adaptation Plan (NAP) in 2015 to serve as a reference framework for climate adaptation interventions through 2050.
• An evaluation of the NAP was conducted in June 2021 to identify achievements and shortcomings after five years of implementation and to provide recommendations for the next NAP.
• The development of the Adaptation Communication (AdCom) is intended to meet the requirements of Article 7, paragraph 10 of the Paris Agreement and the 2018 Katowice climate package, specifically to inform synthesis reports for the 2023 global stocktake on adaptation.
