MISE À JOUR: L’entrée en vigueur du Traité sur la zone exempte d’armes nucléaires en Afrique (Traité de Pelindaba)

• The Treaty of Pelindaba officially entered into force on 15 July 2009, in accordance with article 18 (b).
• Malawi ratified the treaty on 6 March 2009, with the African Union recording the deposit on 23 April 2009. Burundi ratified the treaty on 22 June 2009, with the deposit recorded on 15 July 2009.
• According to article 18 (c) of the treaty, for any signatory ratifying after the 28th instrument of ratification was deposited, the treaty enters into force for that signatory on the date their instrument of ratification is deposited.
