‘United by chaos:’ Examining the Russian nexus to online networks of nihilistic violence

The report examines 'the Alliance,' a coalition formed in April 2026 within the 'Com Network' that coordinates fragmented groups of nihilistic violence. The Alliance is characterized by an emphasis on offline violence, operational sophistication, and a shared goal of creating 'Chaos.' The author identifies several indicators of possible Russian state sponsorship, including financial incentives for violence, advanced technical infrastructure, and coordinated propaganda. While the broader Com remains an organic youth ecosystem, the Alliance represents a shift toward professionalized, potentially state-linked hybrid warfare using 'disposable agents' for arson and sabotage globally.

• Since April 2026, 'the Alliance' has introduced strategic coordination and operational sophistication to the fragmented Com Network, connecting groups with diverse ideologies around a shared commitment to 'offline violence and the fomenting of chaos worldwide.'
• The Alliance provides advanced practical support for violence, including a dark web forum and a public website hosting guides on 'operational security, cybercrime, poisons, explosives, weapons and methods for conducting violence.'
• Alliance-linked groups have been associated with significant real-world harm, including dozens of global swatting incidents and arson attacks by 'Group A,' as well as alleged school attack plots in Ukraine and a murder conspiracy in Germany.
• There are multiple indicators of possible Russian state-linked support for the Alliance, specifically the use of financial incentives for violence and proxy-style tasking, which mirrors Russian methods for recruiting 'disposable agents' for foreign sabotage.
• The Alliance scales an organizational model previously used by the group MKY, where violence serves as 'proof of commitment' and a mechanism for advancement through a system of 'murder points.'
• The coalition explicitly embraces 'accelerationism'—the use of violence to hasten societal collapse—and views 'Chaos' as the unifying principle that transcends the different ideologies of its members, such as National Socialism and Satanism.
