Integrating education sector NAP process

This briefing, developed by the International Institute for Sustainable Development in partnership with Save the Children, provides guidance for National Adaptation Plan (NAP) teams on integrating the education sector into climate adaptation processes to build resilience and protect learning infrastructure.

• The education sector is both highly susceptible to climate change impacts and essential for community resilience. Human-induced climate change is currently damaging infrastructure and disrupting learning, with the most fragile education systems being disproportionately affected.
• Creating a climate-resilient education sector requires that adaptation be central to decision-making, which necessitates coordination, collaboration, and action between climate change actors and education sector actors via the NAP process.
