Facilitating Peer Learning with Adaptation Policy-Makers

This guide provides a framework for organizing inclusive, participatory events designed to help stakeholders collectively generate ideas and identify actions for climate adaptation progress, moving away from traditional presentation-heavy meeting formats.

• The guide is derived from approaches piloted by the NAP Global Network via Targeted Topic Forums (TTFs), which were multi-day events focusing on themes such as gender, financing, and sectoral integration. These events involved government representatives from 23 countries and were designed to share technical knowledge and facilitate peer-to-peer exchange to advance National Adaptation Plan (NAP) processes.
• The guide was developed in response to requests from TTF participants who wanted to apply the same facilitation methods within their own ministries or departments. Its primary goal is to assist organizers in creating participatory events that move away from 'presentation-heavy meetings' to encourage different ways of thinking and planning for adaptation.
