Tracking Progress on the Integration of Nature-Based Solutions in National Adaptation Plan Processes

This infographic summarizes the integration of nature-based solutions (NbS), ecosystem-based adaptation (EbA), and biodiversity considerations within national adaptation plan (NAP) documents, based on a review of 57 documents submitted to the UNFCCC.

• A desk-based review of 57 multi-sector national adaptation plan (NAP) documents submitted to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change as of July 31, 2024, indicates that all NAPs contain at least one action related to nature-based solutions (NbS) or ecosystem-based adaptation (EbA).
• There is an observable trend of increasing integration of the terms ecosystem-based adaptation (EbA) and nature-based solutions (NbS) within NAP documents.
