sNAPshot | Kenya’s Monitoring and Evaluation of Adaptation: Simplified, integrated, multilevel

Kenya is implementing a phased approach to develop an adaptation monitoring and evaluation (M&E) system to overcome common challenges such as data scarcity and measurement uncertainty. The system is designed to align with the country's climate change policy context and priority adaptation actions.

• Kenya faces several systemic challenges in designing and implementing adaptation monitoring and evaluation (M&E) systems, specifically regarding the measurement of results under uncertainty, a lack of baseline information, limited data availability, and the presence of multiple intervention scales.
• To address these complexities, Kenya is adopting a phased approach to ensure the resulting adaptation M&E system is both effective and doable.
