The Inter-American Institute for Global Change Research is seeking nominations for five members of its Science and Policy Advisory Committee (SPAC) by May 1, 2020. The committee is designed to provide guidance on the application of science in policy formulation and decision-making. Candidates must possess extensive experience in science-policy interfaces, global change issues, and the cultural diversity of the Americas.

• The Science and Policy Advisory Committee (SPAC) consists of five members elected by the Conference of the Parties (CoP) to advise the CoP and IAI leadership on using science for policy and decision-making.
• Nominations for the five SPAC vacancies, whose terms end in June 2020, must be submitted by Parties and the SPAC to the Executive Director by May 1, 2020.
• Qualified candidates for the SPAC are expected to have expertise in global change, specifically climate change, and experience with international commissions and the cultural diversity of the Americas.
• The SPAC specifically recommends candidates capable of linking biodiversity and ecosystem service governance with global change in the Americas, and promoting evidence-based policy frameworks such as nature-based solutions or ecosystem-based adaptation.
