Decisiones de la 33.a Reunión de la Conferencia de las Partes del Instituto Interamericano para la Investigación del Cambio Global

The 33rd Meeting of the IAI Conference of the Parties approved the 2025-2026 operating budget, the Asunción Declaration on Water Security, Biodiversity, and Climate Resilience in the Americas, and a new policy on open access to data and publications. The meeting also extended invitations for the World Meteorological Organization (WMO), the American Geophysical Union (AGU), and the Venezuelan Institute for Scientific Research (IVIC) to become Associates of the Institute.

• The Conference of the Parties approved the Asunción Declaration on Water Security, Biodiversity, and Climate Resilience in the Americas, which serves as a joint commitment to improve regional cooperation, transdisciplinary science, and integrated action against global environmental change.
• The IAI has formally approved a policy regarding open access to data and publications.
• The Conference of the Parties invited three specific entities to become Associates of the Institute: the World Meteorological Organization (WMO), the American Geophysical Union (AGU), and the Venezuelan Institute for Scientific Research (IVIC).
• The meeting approved the operating budget for the 2025-2026 period and a preliminary request for the 2026-2028 periods.
• Parties are encouraged to utilize the IAI's regional mechanism to facilitate direct interaction between governments and scientific communities to address global change through collaborative research, capacity development initiatives, and long-term partnerships.
