• The SAC consists of ten members elected for three-year terms, with a distribution of six members nominated by Parties, three by the SAC itself, and one by the Institute's Associates.
• Five specific vacancies must be filled: two from Parties (Dr. Tereza Cavazos of Mexico and Dr. Carlos Alfredo Joly of Brazil), two from the SAC (Dr. Antonio Magalhaes of Brazil and Dr. Michelle Grunauer of Ecuador), and one from Associates following the resignation of Dr. Moacyr Araujo of Brazil.
