• The 48th session of the Subsidiary Body for Scientific and Technological Advice (SBSTA-48) of the UNFCCC, held from April 30 to May 10 in Bonn, Germany, emphasized the role of regional institutions in exchanging knowledge at regional, national, and local levels and encouraged regional scientific dissemination initiatives.
• The IAI Executive Directorate focused its presentation at the SBSTA-48 research dialogue on three primary objectives: developing synergies with Parties for regional actions based on national priorities, communicating science to drive mitigation, adaptation, technology transfer, and capacity development, and facilitating science communication for adaptation policies.
• A joint presentation by Argentina, Brazil, and Uruguay identified scientific dissemination as a priority area to bridge the communication gap between the research needs of the Parties and the scientific community, highlighting the IAI's role in promoting multinational and interdisciplinary research networks in the Americas.
