N O T I F I C A T I O N

A notification from the Executive Director of the Inter-American Institute for Global Change Research (IAI) informing the Science-Policy Advisory Committee (SPAC), the Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC), and CoP members of the IAI's planned participation in five international meetings between October and December 2017.

• The IAI will participate in the Mexican Congress on Science-Informed Policy: Enhancing the Science-Policy Interface in Mexico City from 18 to 20 October 2017, which aims to provide diverse perspectives on mechanisms and models at the science-policy interface.
• From 18-20 October 2017, the IAI will attend the Knowledge Forum on Water Security and Climate Change at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris, France, where it will present experiences and lessons learned during the High Level Science-Policy Dialogue on Water Security.
• The IAI will attend the Belmont Forum in São Paulo, Brazil, from 6-10 November 2017 to strengthen scientific funding and management partnerships, including a meeting on 7 November 2017 regarding the establishment of an Inter-American Forum of Funding Agencies.
• The IAI will participate in the 23rd session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC COP-23) in Bonn, Germany, from 6–17 November 2017, which focuses on developing implementation guidelines for the Paris Agreement.
• The IAI will attend the 21st Meeting of the Subsidiary Body on Scientific, Technical and Technological Advice (SBSTTA) of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) in Montreal, Canada, from 11-14 December 2017, which will examine biodiversity-related scenarios and links between the Strategic Plan for Biodiversity 2011-2020 and Sustainable Development Goals.
