ACUERDO GENERAL DE COOPERACIÓN ENTRE EL FONDO FINANCIERO PARA EL DESARROLLO DE LA CUENCA DEL PLATA (FONPLATA) Y EL INSTITUTO INTERAMERICANO PARA LA INVESTIGACIÓN DEL CAMBIO GLOBAL (IAI)

This document is a General Cooperation Agreement between the Financial Fund for the Development of the Plata Basin (FONPLATA) and the Inter-American Institute for Global Change Research (IAI), signed on December 2, 2025. The agreement establishes a non-exclusive framework for collaboration to identify and prioritize projects in applied science, sustainable development, climate resilience, and institutional strengthening.

• The agreement outlines specific contributions from each party: IAI provides scientific capabilities, research networks, and data access, while FONPLATA provides technical capabilities for sustainable development projects and connections to decision-makers in member countries.
• The agreement is valid for three years from the date of signing (December 2, 2025) and does not imply any immediate financial commitment; any financial obligations must be formalized in separate legal instruments.
