MEMORANDO DE ENTENDIMIENTO entre LA Referencia Y El Instituto Interamericano para la Investigación del Cambio Global (IAI)

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed on June 25, 2025, between LA Referencia and the Inter-American Institute for Global Change Research (IAI) to collaborate on open science in Latin America and the Caribbean.

• The primary objective of the Memorandum of Understanding is to enhance collaboration and information exchange between LA Referencia and the Inter-American Institute for Global Change Research (IAI) regarding open science in Latin America and the Caribbean, as well as other shared interests.
• The parties have agreed to cooperate in four specific areas: strengthening collaboration mechanisms to support their institutional missions in open science, developing joint capacity-building and training programs, collaborating on joint proposals and funding searches, and facilitating regional communication and collaboration in Latin America and the Caribbean.
• The IAI's Strategic Plan for 2024–2030 includes the implementation of an updated open data policy, with a goal for the Executive Directorate to develop a digital infrastructure by 2026 to provide access to data and publications from IAI-funded projects.
• The agreement specifies that it does not create a legal partnership, employment relationship, or agency, and it involves no financial obligations, payments, or commercial exchanges between the parties.
