MEMORANDO DE ENTENDIMIENTO entre LA Referencia Y El Instituto Interamericano para la Investigación del Cambio Global (IAI)

The agreement between LA Referencia and the Inter-American Institute for Global Change Research (IAI) focuses on strengthening open science capacities in Latin America and the Caribbean. The partnership aims to align IAI's 2024–2030 Strategic Plan—which includes developing a digital infrastructure for open data by 2026—with LA Referencia's existing digital infrastructure for scientific publications. Key areas of cooperation include joint capacity-building programs, collaborative funding proposals, and improved regional communication mechanisms.

• The IAI's Strategic Plan for 2024–2030 mandates the creation of a digital infrastructure by 2026 to provide access to data and publications from IAI-funded projects.
• The parties have identified four primary areas of cooperation: strengthening collaboration mechanisms, developing joint open science training programs, collaborating on funding proposals, and facilitating regional communication in Latin America and the Caribbean.
• The agreement is non-binding regarding financial obligations, stating that it does not involve payments, compensation, or commercial exchanges between the organizations.
