MEMORÁNDUM DE ENTENDIMIENTO ENTRE LA DIRECCIÓN EJECUTIVA DEL INSTITUTO INTERAMERICANO PARA LA INVESTIGACIÓN DEL CAMBIO GLOBAL (IAI) Y COOPERACIÓN LATINOAMERICANA DE REDES AVANZADAS (CLARA)

The IAI and CLARA have entered into a non-binding agreement to promote regional scientific capacities through the use of advanced networks, focusing on data management, open publications, and technological infrastructure for global change research in Latin America.

• The primary objective of the agreement is to foster collaboration on initiatives that strengthen science, technology, and innovation capacities specifically within the Latin American region.
• The parties intend to cooperate on several specific technical and scientific goals, including the creation of regional services for scientific data management and open publications (both on-site and 'As a Service'), and the development of technological infrastructure to support IAI projects and training programs.
• The agreement is a non-binding 'good faith' understanding that does not create a legal partnership, joint venture, or immediate financial obligation; any specific financial commitments must be detailed in separate execution agreements.
• The memorandum is effective for a period of 5 years from the date of signing (April 24, 2020), unless terminated with 90 days' written notice or replaced by another agreement.
