MEMORÁNDUM DE ENTENDIMIENTO ENTRE LA DIRECCIÓN EJECUTIVA DEL INSTITUTO INTERAMERICANO PARA LA INVESTIGACIÓN DEL CAMBIO GLOBAL (IAI) Y COOPERACIÓN LATINOAMERICANA DE REDES AVANZADAS (CLARA)

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed on April 24, 2020, between the Executive Direction of the Inter-American Institute for Global Change Research (IAI) and the Latin American Cooperation of Advanced Networks (CLARA) to promote collaboration in science, technology, and innovation in Latin America.

• The primary objective of the agreement is to foster collaboration on activities and initiatives aimed at strengthening science, technology, and innovation capacities within the Latin American region.
• The parties commit to improving information exchange and collaboration through several specific goals: creating regional services for scientific data management and open publications (both 'As a Service' and on-site), developing technological infrastructure to support IAI and RedCLARA projects, supporting IAI scientific projects among RedCLARA's national networks, and utilizing infrastructure for training programs within the IAI's scope.
• The MoU is a non-binding good-faith agreement that does not create a legal partnership, joint venture, or employment relationship. It does not imply prior financial commitments; any such obligations must be detailed in specific execution agreements, and each party is responsible for its own costs.
• The agreement is valid for five years from the date of signing, unless terminated with 90 days' written notice or replaced by another agreement.
