Lista de acciones

This document is a list of actions and decisions recorded during the Eleventh Meeting of the Conference of the Parties (CoP) of the Inter-American Institute for Global Change Research (IAI), held in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on June 30 and July 2, 2004.

• The CoP established the leadership for its Eleventh Meeting, appointing Agueda Menvielle of Argentina as President, Nuris Orihuela of Venezuela as First Vice President, and Michel Béland of Canada as Second Vice President.
• The CoP approved several administrative and financial documents for the 2004/2005 period, including the Annual Program, the Alternative Basic Budget Request, and the 'Suggested Principles regarding In-kind Contributions' (Document 14). It also decided to maintain current Member Country Contribution values for the 2004/2005 period.
• A Search Committee for the IAI Executive Director was formed, consisting of Carlos Ereño (Argentina), Adrián Fernández Bremauntz (Mexico), and Margaret Leinen (USA), alongside the President of the Executive Committee (CE) and a member of the Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC). This followed the approval of 'Option 2' from the CE's search process document.
• The CoP appointed five scientists to the Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC): Walter Fernández Rojas, Luiz Fernando L. Legey, Rana A. Fine, Vicente R. Barros, and René Pablo Capote López.
• The CoP decided that delegates from Canada, Cuba, and the USA would draft a letter to the CE regarding the salaries of local IAI staff, which would then be sent to the relevant authorities in Brazil within two months.
• The CoP accepted an offer from Canada to host the XX CE and XII CoP meetings in either Montreal or Québec City, Québec, Canada, with the date to be determined by the Executive Director search process.
