First Amendment to the Agreement for Scientific or Technological Cooperation between FAPESP and IAI

The First Amendment to the Agreement for Scientific or Technological Cooperation between the São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP) and the Inter-American Institute for Global Change Research (IAI) extends the partnership's duration and expands the scope of collaboration to include equity, indigenous knowledge, and scientific diplomacy.

• The agreement between FAPESP and IAI is extended for an additional ten years, establishing a new termination date of 7 January 2035.
• The parties have agreed to explore enhanced collaboration and information exchange across five specific areas: equity, diversity, and inclusion in science; activities involving indigenous and local communities regarding biodiversity and climate change adaptation; scientific diplomacy via the IAI Regional Center for Scientific Diplomacy; open data and open science; and transdisciplinary science for public policy development.
