Informe del Presidente del CE

This document outlines specific executive actions taken by the President of the Executive Committee (EC) of the Inter-American Institute for Global Change Research (IAI) leading up to the 22nd EC meeting and 13th Conference of the Parties (CoP) in December 2006.

• The President of the Executive Committee engaged in several strategic administrative and partnership activities, including meetings with the National Institute for Space Research (INPE) to discuss a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and joint Capacity Development Activities, and a meeting with Bob Swap regarding the IAI's evaluation and strategic plan.
• The President's actions included coordinating with the Executive Direction and the EC Steering Committee regarding Cuba's participation in IAI-funded research projects, and meeting with the Director of the National Institute of Amazonian Research (INPA) to discuss the upcoming CoP/EC meeting in Manaus.
• Additional activities involved participating in an IAI capacity development event focused on Climate Modeling and Land Use, and assisting in the preparation of an INPE tender for administrative staff to improve salaries.
