Informe de la Dirección Ejecutiva Promoción y cooperación mundial

This report from the Executive Directorate of the Inter-American Institute for Global Change Research (IAI) details activities conducted between 2018 and 2019 to enhance regional and global cooperation. • A Cooperative Research Action (CRA) proposal on Food Security and Climate Change was presented to the Belmont Forum, receiving expressions of interest from Brazil, Chile, Ecuador, Guatemala, and Honduras.
• The IAI and the UNFCCC Secretariat are developing a joint policy report on coastal zone technologies, focusing on resilience and the reduction of losses and damages for vulnerable populations, utilizing science-based data from project IAI CRN3070 regarding the southern South American marine environment.
• The IAI is exploring a partnership with the American Chemical Society (ACS) to expand its reach through the ACS International Center, specifically regarding capacity building grants and 'Chemistry for Sustainability' policy implications in Latin America and the Caribbean.
• The IAI is positioning itself as a regional partner for a new initiative by Germany's Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) titled 'Climate change and climate-related natural risks' to strengthen intercontinental cooperation on climate impacts in South America.
