Report of the IAI Directorate Science

The IAI Directorate reports on the completion of the Third Collaborative Research Network (CRN3) program, which involved 17 projects across 15 IAI Parties and leveraged US$ 15.36 million in additional funding. • The Small Grant Program on the role of ecosystem services in adaptation to global change for human wellbeing (SGP-HW) selected six projects for funding following a co-design workshop involving 104 researchers and stakeholders from 14 countries.
• The SGP-HW program is the first to require data management plans from proposals, supporting the IAI's Open Data Policy and Principles adopted at CoP-26.
• The upcoming fourth round of Collaborative Research Networks (CRN4) will be based on Party-driven priorities and is exploring alignment with the Belmont Forum Collaborative Research Action (CRA) to establish a flexible co-funding mechanism.
