This report presents the Inter-American Institute for Global Change Research (IAI) Strategic Plan for 2019–2044. • The IAI aims to enhance the interface between science and policy by acting as a bridge to ensure the best available science reaches decision-makers and by co-creating knowledge through transdisciplinary research.
• To ensure institutional sustainability, the IAI has set a financial goal to establish an endowment fund reaching 100 million US dollars within ten years.
• The IAI commits to the principles of open science and open data, requiring that all research sponsored by the institute follows these policies to ensure equitable access to information for governments and communities.
