Report of the Science-Policy Advisory Committee (SPAC)

The Science-Policy Advisory Committee (SPAC) report for the 26th Conference of the Parties outlines its role in advising on science-policy liaison. • During the intersessional period, the SPAC held four teleconferences (19 September and 11 December 2017; 9 February and 24 April 2018) to discuss several items: fundraising, the organization of the 26th meeting of the Conference of the Parties, communication with the Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC), the organization of the CRN3 researchers meeting in Cancun, Mexico (held 29 November to 1 December 2017), and the launch of the Small Grants Call on Ecosystem Services and Adaptation for Human Well-Being (SGP-HW). The SGP-HW call was announced on 1 March 2018.
• The SPAC scheduled a meeting for 18 June 2018 in Antigua, Guatemala, to collaborate with the SAC. The agenda includes evaluating SGP-HW pre-proposals, discussing new global change research areas related to CRN4 proposals, the role of researchers in policy-making, the role of the SPAC, and increasing activities within the Caribbean and Central America region.
