Aprobación del Acta de la 25a reunión de la Conferencia de las Partes

This document is a report on the 25th meeting of the Conference of the Parties (CoP-25) of the Inter-American Institute for Global Change Research (IAI), held in Bogotá, Colombia, on June 13-14, 2017. It details the approval of the meeting's minutes, the election of advisory committee members, financial reports for the 2016-2017 fiscal year, and strategic plans for science-policy integration, communication, and funding for the next decade.

• The IAI's Collaborative Research Network (CRN 3) consists of 10 projects with funding between US$ 700k and 1M each, alongside 7 smaller projects ranging from US$ 98k to 200k. The program involves 131 researchers from 71 institutions across 14 IAI member countries.
• The IAI has implemented a Professional Development Seminar (PDS) and seed grant program to bridge the gap between scientists and decision-makers. The seed grant program funded 11 networks or projects involving 68 professionals from 53 institutions across 15 countries, with an original funding of US$ 220,625 supplemented by US$ 124,403 from participating institutions.
• For the 2016-2017 fiscal year, the IAI collected 102% of approved contributions, totaling US$ 1,424,975, with a projected total of US$ 1,800,000 once the full contribution from the United States is received.
• The CoP approved an operating budget for the 2017-2018 fiscal year of US$ 1,420,000, which maintains the same level of contributions from member countries as the previous year.
• The IAI is developing a new Small Grant Program (SGP) titled 'The role of ecosystem services in adaptation to global change,' approved by the NSF. This program emphasizes transdisciplinarity and co-design between natural and human sciences.
• The CoP mandated the Executive Directorate to establish a long-term communication strategy and plan, as well as a long-term financing strategy, to be presented at the next CoP.
• The IAI launched a Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) on climate change impacts in Latin America, co-funded by CAF, which has reached nearly 7,000 participants since its launch at COP22 in Morocco.
• The CoP decided that official documents from the Executive Council (CE), CoP, Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC), and Science-Policy Liaison Advisory Committee (SPAC) must be available on the IAI portal without a password.
• The IAI is working toward a tripartite governance structure, with the implementation commission coordinating the installation of offices in Argentina and Brazil.
• The CoP established that the Executive Directorate must create and publish member country fact sheets on the IAI portal, detailing the benefits countries receive and their contributions to the Institute.
