Approved Decisions and Actions of CoP-XXV

The document records the decisions and actions taken during the twenty-fifth Conference of the Parties (CoP-XXV) of the Inter-American Institute for Global Change Research (IAI), held in Bogotá, Colombia, on June 13-14, 2017. • The CoP approved the Core Budget Request and maintained unchanged levels of country contributions for the 2017-2018 fiscal year. Additionally, it accepted financial statements as of 28 February 2017 and auditors' reports for the periods ending 30 June 2015 and 2016.
• The IAI Directorate was given several mandates to develop new frameworks and documents for presentation at the next CoP, including an open data policy and principles, a long-term communication strategy and plan, and a long-term funding strategy.
• The CoP elected members to the Science Advisory Committee (SAC), including Drs. Carlos Joly, Teresa Cavazos, Michelle Grunauer, and Antonio Magalhaes, and to the Science-Policy Advisory Committee (SPAC), including Dr. Walter Baethgen, Dr. Brigitte Baptiste, and Dr. Evelia Rivera. Dr. Maria Netto Schneider was elected to the SPAC to replace Dr. Luis Basterra.
• The term of the Implementation Committee for the Tripartite Structure of the IAI was renewed for one year. The committee consists of Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador (Vice-Chair), Uruguay, and the United States of America (Chair).
