Plan de Actividades del IAI para julio 2015 – junio 2016

The IAI's 2015-2016 plan focuses on institutional restructuring across Argentina, Brazil, and Uruguay, the implementation of integrated science projects, and various capacity-building workshops in Colombia and Panama. Key initiatives include a new call for grants on ecosystem services and adaptation, and the development of professional seminars on global environmental change and health.

• The IAI is undergoing an institutional transition, including the completion of staff in Montevideo and the transfer of administration from Brazil to Uruguay, expected to conclude in the second half of 2015. It is also updating host country agreements with Argentina and Brazil.
• The IAI is preparing a call for small grants focused on the role of ecosystem services in adaptation, aligning with the CoP 22 mandate to strengthen adaptation research and promote transdisciplinarity.
• Capacity development activities for 2015 include a groundwater management seminar in Cartagena, Colombia (September 7-11), and a conference on sustainable development and global environmental change in Panama City, Panama (October 27-29).
• Between 2016 and 2018, the IAI plans four Professional Development Seminars on global environmental change (CAG) and policy application, covering transdisciplinary group management, tropical forest ecosystem services, global change and health, and climate variability impacts on human health in MERCOSUR.
• The IAI is collaborating with ICSU on a proposal to the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA) for a science and capacity development program targeting Africa and Latin America.
