Minutas de la Decimoquinta reunión de la Conferencia de las Partes (CoP) del IAI

• The IAI is implementing a project on the impact of land use and cover changes on the hydroclimate of the La Plata Basin, with a budget of US$ 459,500 running from April 2008 to June 2011.
• The IAI is coordinating a project funded by IDRC on land use, biofuels, and rural development in the La Plata Basin (March 2008 to September 2010) with funding of CAD 425,310, involving Argentina, Brazil, Uruguay, Paraguay, and Bolivia.
• The United States committed to providing approximately US$ 500,000 annually in additional funding beyond the Cooperative Research Networks (CRN) to support capacity development activities and IAI-NCAR cooperation.
• The CoP elected Frank Müller Karger, Walter Baethgen, Luis Mata, and Telma Castro to fill vacancies in the Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC).
• The CoP elected the members of the Executive Committee (CE) for the next two years: Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Costa Rica, Cuba, United States, Mexico, Panama, and Venezuela.
• The IAI is pursuing a joint capacity development program with UNESCO and SCOPE to bring together scientists and policymakers from different disciplines and ministries regarding global change issues.
