The Inter-American Institute for Global Change Research (IAI) is an intergovernmental organization serving 19 member states in the Americas. Focus areas include a South American data portal for this nexus, energy-efficient building cooling to reduce heat exposure, sustainable food production by women, and multidimensional vulnerability to dengue fever under climate change.
• In collaboration with the São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP) and the Belmont Forum, the IAI is developing a global funding call titled "The Amazon and tropical forests: their global implications and the urgent actions needed," with an expected announcement in 2024.
• The Science, Technology and Policy (STeP) fellows program, launched in 2020 as part of the IAI's Center for Science Diplomacy, has included 47 fellows from 11 countries to improve the science-policy interface and address transboundary global environmental change (GEC) issues.
