• The IAI is implementing a program at the nexus of health, climate, and environment in the Americas, providing seed grant funding for research in Latin America and the Caribbean. Focus areas include a South American data portal for climate, environment, and health; sustainable food production by women; multidimensional vulnerability to dengue under climate change; and energy-efficient building cooling to reduce heat exposure.
• In partnership with the São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP), the IAI is developing a global funding call via the Belmont Forum titled "The Amazon and tropical forests: its global implications and needed urgent actions." Scoping workshops were planned for 2023, with a presentation at the Belmont Forum Plenary in October 2023 and a call launch in 2024.
• The Science, Technology, and Policy (STeP) fellowship program, part of the IAI's Science Diplomacy Center, provides capacity-building for early career researchers. Since 2020, the program has included 47 fellows from 11 countries, placing them in government and private sector institutions to support decision-makers in their home countries.
