Decisiones y acciones

This document records the decisions and actions taken during the 39th Meeting of the Executive Council (CE) of the Inter-American Institute for Global Change Research (IAI), held on June 23, 2015, in Lima, Peru.

• The Executive Council (CE) approved the 2015-2016 Operating Budget and decided to keep country contributions unchanged for the 2015-2016 period, both of which will be referred to the Conference of Parties (CoP) for approval.
• The CE recommended that national representatives identify funding agencies within their countries interested in signing Belmont-style agreements to fund IAI and international projects, following up on Action 15 of the IAI COP22.
• The CE identified a need to increase the visibility and availability of IAI project information. This includes improving the website to include links to metadata, publications, and project activities, as well as a link to Citeulike for peer-reviewed papers. The goal is to move beyond science to address impacts on capacity development and policy formulation in countries.
• The CE requested that the CoP address the issue of open data access, seek ways to centralize information, and identify methods to measure the impact of IAI science with assistance from IAI Associates and member countries.
• The CE established the membership of the commission to recommend candidates for the Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC) and the Steering Committee (SPAC), consisting of representatives from Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Peru, and Paraguay, along with the President of the SAC and the Science-Policy Liaison Office Coordinator.
