Approved 14" Meeting of the IAI Executive Council (CE)

The 14th Meeting of the IAI Executive Council focused on administrative governance, including the selection of a new Director, the filling of vacancies on the Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC), and the development of procedures for project suspension and termination. • The 'Declaration of Panama' was not approved because there were insufficient signatures by the deadline proposed by the Conference of Parties (CoP), although the EC recommended attempting to approve a similar document at the next CoP meeting.
• The EC directed several working groups to prepare documents for approval at the February 2002 meeting in Brazil, specifically regarding 'Suspension and Termination Procedures for [AI Projects', methods to increase country commitment to the IAI (ICC), and the handling of delays in voluntary contributions from member countries.
