IAI Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC) Report to the Conference of the Parties

The IAI Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC) report details its 2016-2017 activities, including the election of Edwin Castellanos as chair and participation in climate-related dialogues in Bonn and the Dominican Republic. • A Professional Development Seminar on "Transdisciplinary Approaches to Integrating Policy and Science for Sustainability" took place in the Dominican Republic from November 28th to December 2nd, 2016, involving researchers and practitioners from the Americas.
• The SAC recommended that the appointment of four new members to the committee should aim to "broaden the scope of the science represented", specifically by increasing social sciences representation, and to improve geographical coverage in "Central America and the Caribbean" as well as "North American and northern South America".
