CONVENIO MARCO DE COLABORACION ENTRE EL INSTITUTO INTERAMERICANO PARA LA INVESTIGACION DEL CAMBIO GLOBAL Y LA ORGANIZACION DE ESTADOS IBEROAMERICANOS, PARA LA EDUCACION, LA CIENCIA Y LA CULTURA

The Inter-American Institute for Global Change Research (IAI) and the Organization of Ibero-American States for Education, Science and Culture (OEI) have signed a five-year framework agreement to collaborate on global change research and scientific diplomacy. The agreement focuses on activities at the interface of science and policy, including administrative support, technical assistance, and capacity building. Specific projects will be detailed in subsequent complementary acts, which will define budgets, human resources, and intellectual property rights. The agreement does not create immediate financial obligations for either party.

• The agreement's primary objective is to implement research, training, and technical assistance activities specifically located at the interface of science and policy, as well as initiatives related to scientific diplomacy.
• The collaboration is structured as a framework agreement where specific tasks, scopes, timelines, and financial resources for individual programs or projects must be defined in separate 'Complementary Acts' or 'Collaboration Acts' containing a detailed Work Plan.
• The agreement is valid for five years from the date of signing and includes a provision for automatic renewal for an equal period unless one party provides notice of non-renewal at least 60 business days in advance.
