A letter from the Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC) of the Inter-American Institute for Global Change Research (IAI) requesting nominations from Parties to fill two vacancies in the SAC.

• The Inter-American Institute for Global Change Research is seeking nominations from Parties to fill two vacancies in the Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC), with the selection to take place during the 29th meeting of the Conference of the Parties from June 22 to 23 via teleconference. Dr. Mariana Meerhoff is eligible for reelection if nominated.
• The SAC recommends that nominations prioritize geographic, gender, and ethnic balance, specifically noting that Central America, the Caribbean, and the tropical Andes are currently under-represented. Candidates should be internationally recognized scientists in global change within the Americas and are expected to represent their science rather than a specific country.
• Qualified candidates must possess a doctorate or equivalent experience, a strong record of research and publications, and experience in international project management and interdisciplinary environments. The SAC specifically seeks expertise in planetary health, climate change adaptation and mitigation, traditional and indigenous knowledge, and social sciences (including education, economics, and urbanism).
