Belmont Forum Collaborative Research Action on Transdisciplinary Research for Pathways to Sustainability Annex

The IAI will support the Belmont Forum's Pathways to Sustainability CRA through network building, capacity building in transdisciplinary approaches, and coordination of in-kind resources from its 19 member Parties in the Americas, despite providing no direct funding for this phase.

• The IAI is not providing financial support for the current phase of the Collaborative Research Action (CRA), although funding may be available in later phases.
• The IAI will facilitate network building by connecting the CRA with its current small grants program on ecosystem services and adaptation, as well as recent Collaborative Research Network (CRN) projects, using tools like Zoom and webinars.
• The IAI offers training and capacity building in transdisciplinary (TD) approaches for teams that include participants from Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC).
• Specific in-kind support and expertise have been offered by the Instituto de Hidrología, Meteorología y Estudios Ambientales (IDEAM) of Colombia and the Instituto Nacional de Investigación Agropecuaria (INIA) of Uruguay, the latter of which offers its Long-term Agro-Environmental Experimental Platform.
• Eligibility for the CRA via the IAI is open to scientists and stakeholders from 19 Parties in the Americas, excluding those already participating as Belmont Forum members, such as the United States (NSF) and the State of São Paulo, Brazil (FAPESP).
