This document is a list of actions approved during the first day of the Nineteenth Meeting of the Executive Council (EC) of the Inter-American Institute for Global Change Research (IAI), held on June 29, 2004, in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

• The Executive Council (EC) approved several administrative items on June 29, 2004, including the meeting agenda, the report from the Eighteenth Meeting (with specific corrections regarding the length and frequency of EC and CoP meetings), and the Financial State Audit Report as of June 30, 2003.
• The EC established a committee to select candidates for the IAI Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC), consisting of Paul Filmer (USA), Nuris Orihuela (Venezuela), Alejandro Castellanos, and Dr. Armando Bertranou.
• The Executive Director of the IAI informed the Council of their resignation effective December 31, 2004, and sought advice on pursuing legal action against the Host Institution of CRN 38 to recover funds following the project's conclusion.
