AGREEMENT ESTABLISHING THE INTER-AMERICAN INSTITUTE FOR GLOBAL CHANGE RESEARCH

• The Institute establishes Research Centers based on proposals from Parties. These centers are tasked with conducting interdisciplinary global change research, collecting and exchanging data, and creating regional capacity through advanced training.
• Operational expenses for the Institute, including salaries for the Directorate and support for the Executive Council and Scientific Advisory Committee, are funded by voluntary annual pledges from Parties in increments of US$ 5,000.
• Major research programs and specific projects are funded through voluntary contributions from Parties, Associates of the Institute, other States outside the region, international intergovernmental organizations, and private or non-governmental organizations.
