• To address the lack of member engagement and funding, the CoP established an 'Ad Hoc Committee on Relations with Member States'. This committee is tasked with identifying political contacts within member states, advising the Executive Director on effective communication strategies, and participating in interactions to improve financial and participatory commitment.
• The IAI's Executive Direction implemented six main strategies for growth and consolidation, including the expansion of Cooperative Research Networks (CRNs), prioritizing projects that integrate global change with sustainable development, and focusing capacity development on scientifically weaker member countries.
• The IAI reported growth in its research network, increasing the number of involved researchers from 171 to 347 and the number of institutions from 130 to 236.
