LETTER OF UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN THE INTER-AMERICAN INSTITUTE FOR GLOBAL CHANGE RESEARCH (IAI) AND THE MOUNTAIN RESEARCH INITIATIVE (MRI)

The IAI and MRI have signed a non-legally binding agreement to collaborate on research, capacity building, and the science-policy interface to address socioeconomic and environmental challenges in the mountain regions of the Americas.

• The IAI and MRI intend to collaborate on scientific research, capacity development, and environmental management to address the socioeconomic and environmental challenges specific to mountain regions in the Americas.
• The partnership focuses on the joint promotion and implementation of activities in three primary areas: research, capacity building, and the science-policy interface, with specific project requirements to be decided on a case-by-case basis.
• The agreement is explicitly designated as a non-legally binding document.
