Resiliencia socio-ecológica ante el cambio ambiental global en territorios heterogéneos: construyendo una plataforma común para investigación y acción

This project report describes the creation of a shared platform to understand socio-ecological resilience and adaptive capacity in the face of large-scale environmental change, specifically focusing on seasonally dry forests in South America.

• The project aims to build a shared platform to understand socio-ecological resilience and adaptive capacity against rapid large-scale environmental change. This involves the co-production of a shared framework, research questions, and an implementation path for empirical research, practice, and policy between scientists and various stakeholders.
• The specific focus of the project is on seasonally dry forests in South America that are ecologically and socially heterogeneous and subject to rapid changes driven by global social, ecological, and climatic factors.
• The project utilizes a network consisting of social, natural, and interdisciplinary scientists from 8 academic institutions across 4 countries, as well as more than 15 non-state and government actors.
• Over a two-year period, the project intends to hold multi-stakeholder workshops in four different seasonally dry forest locations across Argentina, Brazil, and Colombia to co-design key issues regarding resilience and global change. These results will serve as the foundation for a subsequent, larger-budget long-term project to empirically test the co-designed questions.
• The project's scientific output is intended for diverse stakeholders, including government decision-makers, medium and large-scale agricultural producers, small-scale diversified farmers, and civil society organizations. To date, researchers have published a climatology baseline report for a region in Argentina encompassing Copo and Córdoba.
