Our Progress from 2021–2024

GreenLatinos reports significant growth between 2021 and 2024, expanding its staff from four to thirty and increasing network membership by 250%. The organization released two editions of the Latino Climate Justice Framework, influenced the Inflation Reduction Act, and launched the Justicia y Equidad Fund, which granted nearly $22.8 million to frontline organizations for urban greening and community forestry. It also established state programs in Colorado, Texas, California, New Mexico, and Illinois to support place-based campaigns.

• GreenLatinos advanced Latino environmental justice at the federal level by publishing two editions of the Latino Climate Justice Framework (LCJF) and contributing to the shaping of the Inflation Reduction Act, which is described as the largest climate investment in U.S. history.
• Through the Justicia y Equidad Fund, the first Latino-led environmental grantmaking fund, GreenLatinos granted almost $22.8 million in 2024 to community-based and frontline organizations for community engagement, community forestry, and urban greening.
